COMMANDERíS POEM

I AM THE FLAG OF THE CSAE

I am the flag of the CSAE
A flag of Europe
And devised from Dixie

I am coloured like the Austrian flag
Red, white, red
The colour of freshly given blood
The blood of the dead

My central band is white
Like that of the angel and purity
That looks over the soldiers of Dixie

My canton is blue like the Southern sky
Twelve brightly shining stars in a circle
And a lone white one
Sadly watch as our soldiers die

I am on a pole in a gentle breeze
Mourners come to the graveside
And pray on their knees
Soldiers with hats at their side
Heads bowed and tears they hide

I am the flag and I hang still
As if this is Almighty Godís will

I am the flag of the CSAE
